Andromeda Galaxy Distance To Earth

2.537 million light years

A picture of galactic neighbour, Andromeda galaxy revealed by NASA on 5th January which was taken from Hubble Space Telescope. It is the largest picture ever taken (69,536 x 22,230) 1.5 billion pixel image that takes up 4.3 GB disk space. The full picture is comprised of 411 Hubble pictures, takes you through a 100 million stars and goes over in excess of 40,000 light years.
